Dinner, Italian Style, Boston's North End, Cafe Pompeii

Cafe Pompeii
Boston's North End

Boston's beautiful North End is a vast array of Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and assorted eateries.  This week, we stopped at Cafe Pompeii for a late Wednesday dinner.  A small dual-section restaurant, it has a dinning room area connected through a wall to a more casual cafe lounge.  Service was prompt, although the place was nearly empty because it was late, however on the plus side, its open pretty late by North End standards.  Portions are large and for the North End, very reasonable and affordable prices.  Had Linguine del Mar, which as seen above, is quite an assortment of seafood.  Shrimp, Muscles, Clams, as well as Squid, both parts and full.  I'm not a fan of squid myself, but otherwise, it was delicious.

Greek Cusine on Newbury St.

Ok.  So I know you may be thinking, are you nuts, who would go to Newbury Street for Greek Cusine?  Well us, and believe it or not, we found some deals that were in fact, pretty damn good meals.

Now, until today,  I myself had never had true Greek Food before, so I didn't know what to expect, but I can tell you from my compatriot who has, that this place rises to the top.  And my meal affirmed this.  Ate Souvlaki wrap of perfectly prepared meat in a zesty cream sauce, with salad and onions.  Price: aprox $8.50.  For Lunch, on Newbury Street, this is by far the cheapest quality meal you'd find.

For all of you clamoring for some awesome meat, kabob, or a salad of epic proportions, head to Steves on Newbury Street.

Sushi, Kenmore Square

Kenmore Square.  Fin's Sushi restaurant.  Amazing amount of food.  Pretty fair prices.  Recommend combo platters.  Ate Sashimi Deluxe, 16 Pieces for $19.95, which is a hefty max of Sushi for that price.  Also had Sushi Delux, another 16 piece entree for $17.95.  Lots of much smaller roll options to mix and match.

Inaugural Chows

So our great experiment has come to fruition in blog form.  As a tight-knit core of professional stomachs that love to eat and discover the very best that food has to offer, we have decided to try to assemble a vast network of delicious encounters, be they in my home city of Boston, or elsewhere as this develops.  Menu Metropolis has been born to manifest this love of food into a useful guide that others can benefit from when Meal-Time arrives.
